Strategic Plan

Queer Yukon Society (QYS) exists to support, connect, and advocate for 2SLGBTQIA+ people across the Yukon. Over the past decade, QYS has grown significantly in programs, visibility, partnerships, and community expectations. At the same time, the needs of our community have become more complex, while our organizational capacity (staff, funding, time) remains limited.

In 2023, This Strategic Plan is Queer Yukon Society (QYS)’s was the first-ever Strategic Plan as an organization. It was the continuation/culmination of ongoing engagement with our Board of Directors, staff and community. The strategic plan set out our vision and values — what we believe in and what kind of future we want to help create.

In 2026, a Strategic Prioritization Project was undertaken to ensure QYS is using its resources responsibly, sustainably, and in ways that best serve the community — now and into the future

We recognize and thank the entire Queer Yukon community (including past and present Board, staff and volunteers) for their valuable contributions to this plan.

By curating the contributions of our community into this Strategic Plan document, we will use it as a tool to communicate our path forward to ourselves (current and future staff and Board) and community.
