The annual Pride Parade began as a grassroots initiative in 2013.

Every year, it grows bigger with more members and allies of our community coming together to share joy, celebrate love, and stand together.

Interested in being part of the Pride Parade?
Here’s what you need to know.

  1. Read our parade fees section. Depending on your entry, there may or may not be a fee associated with being in the parade.

  2. Read our parade rules.

  3. Determine whether you need to complete an application form.


Fees to be part of the Whitehorse Pride Parade

Non-profit organizations and community groups: Parade entry is free.

Businesses or groups who intend to use the parade as an advertising opportunity: $450 entry fee.

Consider becoming a festival sponsor, and the parade entry may be included in your sponsor benefits! You will also receive recognition as a festival sponsor throughout the festival!

Individuals or groups of friends (not affiliated with a group, NGO, or business): Parade entry is free.


Pride Parade Rules

  • Complete, email, or drop off the signed form to the Queer Yukon Society by August 3, 2026. Photos of the signed form are acceptable as scanned copies.

  • BE SAFETY CONSCIOUS AT ALL TIME. Keep the speed at a walking level and keep up with the parade. Bicycle, motorcycle, and ATV riders MUST wear a proper helmet.

  • Do not throw candy or other giveaways to children. Children may run into traffic to pick them up and could be seriously injured. You are responsible, so please hand out items directly instead. 

  • People are not to enter or exit vehicles while in motion

  • Floats and vehicle must allow emergency vehicles through in the event of an emergency

  • Walking entries must walk fast enough so as not to cause a disruption or a large gap in the parade flow.

  • If your entry includes animals, you must clean up immediately if an animal defecates.

  • Photos and/or Videos may be taken at Festival Venues for Queer Yukon Society Use.

  • VIPs will receive additional instructions.

  • By being in the parade, you assume full responsibilities for any bodily harms, injuries, damages and/or death that your Parade Entry may cause while participating in the Pride Parade. You understand and fully agree that you will not take any legal actions, in any form, against the Queer Yukon Society, nor its volunteers, its coordinators, nor anyone affiliated with the conduct of this event.


Do I need to submit an application form?

Non-profit organizations and community groups: Yes. Complete the form

Businesses or groups who intend to use the parade as an advertising opportunity: Yes. Complete the form.

Individuals or groups of friends (not affiliated with a group, NGO, or business):

You want a vehicle/float in the parade: Yes, we need an application form for any vehicles in the parade for safety and traffic planning. 

You want to walk or cycle in the parade: If you are attending as an individual by bicycle or on foot, you do not need to complete this form.
