Dawson City & UPP Update

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a few operational updates from the team at Queer Yukon Society. We know that changes to programs and services have real impacts in our community, and we want to communicate these updates clearly and with as much notice as possible.

Utility Payment Program (UPP)
We regret to inform you that Queer Yukon Society will no longer be able to offer the Utility Payment Program (UPP) moving forward.

Community members who are planning to apply are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible. The final deadline to submit applications will be March 13, 2026, in order for applications to be reviewed and processed before the program concludes on March 31, 2026.

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to funding availability. To make sure applications can be processed as quickly as possible, we strongly encourage applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria and application instructions before submitting.

You can find the application form and full program details here:

Dawson City Office Update
As part of the broader funding pressures currently affecting the organization, we will also be closing our Dawson City office.

This decision was not made lightly. Rural access and connection remain important priorities for Queer Yukon, and we are actively exploring other ways to maintain a presence and support community members in Dawson City.

In the coming months, we hope to begin expanding community programming through the Safer Together project, which will include additional opportunities for connection and support in Dawson City and other communities.

You can learn more about the Safer Together project here:

Thank you to everyone who has participated in these programs and supported this work. While funding realities sometimes require difficult changes, our commitment to serving 2SLGBTQIA+ Yukoners across the territory remains the same.

If you have questions about these updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support,

Seth Brown
