Sadie Segriff (SHE/they)

Sadie was born in Nogojiwanong the Traditional Territory of the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg peoples. She grew up and is currently based in Whitehorse, the Traditional Territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. Sadie identifies as a white settler and a queer cis woman. 

As a white settler on so-called-canada Sadie lives with privileges she did not earn. She takes ownership to work to dismantle systems of oppression while considering Indigenous worldviews and amplifying Indigenous voices. Sadie strives to not only acknowledge the Land, but to fight for it.

Sadie is a professional movement artist, her work is influenced by her northern upbringing, environmentalism, and advocating for human rights. Sadie’s dance practice is to research human identity and expression that explores her connection to people and the natural environment around her.
