 Remy Gehmair (They/Them)

Social Media Coordinator
Coordonnateur des médias sociaux
Picture
Remy is the Social Media Coordinator for Queer Yukon and soon to be 2022 FH Collins graduate. Coming from the Na-Cho Nyak Dun First Nation of Mayo, they are currently staying in educational residence on the traditional lands of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwächän Council.

A Yukon-born artist, Remy moved to BC for two years to reconnect with family and explore their artwork. Eventually Remy returned to the Yukon to finish their secondary education and reconnect with their land and community. While they began reconnecting with their Indigenous community, they also began to forge a new connection to the queer community of the Yukon.

They're eager to go where their community will take them, be it from the southern coasts of British Columbia to their dream school in Montreal. Wherever they end up, they will take their indigenous and queer identity with them.
