Emily is originally from the beautiful Qu’Appelle valley located within the Treaty 4 Territory of Saskatchewan. She has a deep love for the prairies but feels grateful to have been living in Whitehorse as a guest on Kwanlin Dun and Ta’an Kwach'an Council territory for the past 2 years.

Emily holds a degree in Environmental and Social Sustainability from Dalhousie University and is passionate about creating strong communities and social networks as a way to build resiliency and joy in the face of the climate crisis. Emily lacked any kind of queer representation in their small hometown and hopes that through their position at Queer Yukon, they can contribute to building the kinds of queer spaces they needed as a kid.
