Asha Bittenbender (she/her/elle, THEY/THEM/IEL)
Asha is a white settler, born in the North on Tlingit land and raised internationally. They identify as non-binary, and slightly magical. They are a multi-disciplinary artist, specializing in live performance both behind the scenes and in front of them, darling.
They completed a BA at McGill University in 2020, and returned to the North in the midst of the pandemic. Reconnecting to the land where they lived as a child and building queer community in Whitehorse and beyond has been its own education.
They want to ground hope via community in terrifying times, and believe that queer liberation is one way to do so, in solidarity with the liberation of other oppressed peoples. Also, it’s really fun.
