Ames Val (THEY/THEM/IEL)

Program Development Manager - Whitehorse
Responsable du développement des programmes
Picture

A queer adopted Dene from the Dehcho in NWT, Ames grew up mostly in and just outside of Whitehorse. After spending too much time in school down south, they moved back with their kid a few years ago.

As a Trans and non-binary lover of spreadsheets and chill hangouts, Ames brings with them a collection of personal, community and professional knowledge in a bunch of areas.

They're working on their work-life-school balance and are reconnecting to themselves and what's important to them.

Their hope is to ground the Centre in community, specifically those that have often been pushed out of mainstream queer spaces.
